Monday, 10:15 am: Life in the North Country is back on track. Outdoor chores and mosquitoes are on tap for today and for the foreseeable future. Ruth’s garden is planted, and the onions are popping their leaves out of the ground. The tomatoes are well-established, since they were purchased as already sizable potted plants from Home Depot in Bangor.

As I discovered, MaineToday.com has redesigned its blog pages and uploading blogs has changed. If I am successful you, the reader, will see something today; if not, maybe a blank page. Not necessarily being a technological dullard, I will need to work though the glitches, mainly in my brain. What a relief, all those years of higher education weren’t wasted.
Tomorrow is election day in Grand Isle for local town positions. Being an uninformed voter [hmmm], I am not sure who is running and for what offices. Charles Ames is a former educator and world traveler. He and his wife [Ruth] moved to Grand Isle Maine from Arizona in 1998. They reside in a log home on 60 acres of wooded land. They share their home with five dogs, two parrots, two parakeets and a goldfish.
Besides amateur weather observing, his other hobbies include; ham radio, astronomy, bird-watching, travel and fine dining, when and where he can find it. He is also volunteer Weather Spotter for the NWS in Caribou, and is an active member of the St. John Valley Amateur Radio Association. He supplies information using a wireless Davis Vantage-Pro.
