Melting in Mid-April

Grand Isle
GIW-59a.jpg Thursday 8:00 am: Pecking away on Ruth's laptop computer, I am also looking out our kitchen window towards the morning sun; which, by the way, is dazzlingly bright. My rods and cones in my eyes are all askew, as I can't see too much inside the house, at the moment. Typing with sunglasses looks pretty weird, but that's what I am doing. Our family carries the weirdness gene, not to mention red hair and other similar goofy stuff. While adding some canned, evaporated, milk to my coffee a few minutes ago, I noticed on the label the following warning; ". . . WARNING: CONTAINS MILK." I'd hope so. Phew, warning me that my can of milk actually contains milk - I'm shocked! That milk company has some very clever and extremely bored executives. To be fair, it's probably a federally mandated allergy warning. Next, I suppose, they'll warn me that our car tires contain rubber and compressed air. Ah what the heck, it keeps people gainfully employed. It's tough being left-handed and generally uncoordinated (What, me?). Yep, it true. Years ago I gave up my quest of being a professional accordion player in a polka band. Granted opportunities are limited, but there are no left-handed accordions, at least not in 1950s Phoenix. Over the years I have become proficient at other things. Give me a few minutes and I'll think of something. It's all I can do to remember the 1960s. It's those Ames' genes again.
