Monday, 3:10 pm: If I were any lazier I could be comatose, but luckily I haven’t seen my name in the obituary column in our newspaper, so I must be still alive. Now let’s see, I am trying to sort out where I left off in my last blog.

Not far from our house
Lo’ and behold, I got a letter, a few weeks ago, from the car rental agency at the Munich Airport saying they paid a speeding ticket for me and deducted it from my credit card. I have a badge of distinction now: I got ticketed for speeding on the A-9 German Autobahn. Wow, speeding on the Autobahn! They got me with photo radar in Sachsen-Anhalt, south of Berlin. I kept the letter from the Polizei. Being an old fart, of sorts, I suppose I am required to drive slower or at least near the shoulder of the road, in the event my Grecian Formula runs in my eyes.
For the moment, and with subdued enthusiasm, I need to take my daily siesta. I finished reading the Dubliners by James Joyce – what a snore, even if it is a classic. Now I know what drove my Irish ancestors to drink, and it probably didn't take much. I usually imagined my forbearers in the Emerald Isle playing concertinas and wearing buckle shoes and talking a lot like Barry Fitzgerald in Going My Way. Although I am partial to the Quiet Man with John Wayne. Yikes, I am stereotyping myself! Blogging, reading and driving in one day have pushed the envelope of my endurance and interest. Ciao!

Speeding
Charles i am interested i was under the impression that some roads on the German Autobahn had no speed limits. Is this not the case or has it changed.?
