Snow and ice on the way
Thursday, 9:00 am, December 29, 2005: Anticipating a snow/ice storm this afternoon we’ve brought in firewood for the next two days. Our snowblower is in the shop for some minor repairs. We hope to get it back today, otherwise it is back to the snow shovel and snow scoop.
On the pet front, we are driving our senior border collie, Mitzie, to the veterinarian today for her thyroid function test. She loves to go for a ride in the car. It usually means stopping at the donut place for a snack. Yes, I know we shouldn’t give her people food, but it is so infrequent and it gives her enough pleasure that she forgets about the vet getting a blood sample from her. The ride alone is worth the trip for her.
And we have recovered from our colds. The bug ran its course and we are back to normal with an occasional cough or two. And it is Thursday, so my wife is on the telephone talking to her family in Germany. They think we live on the backside of the moon.
