Sunday, January 1, 2006, 9:30 am: Happy New Year from Grand Isle. At the stroke of midnight it was -9 degrees Fahrenheit. But wait, it continued to drop until it bottomed out at -12.5 degrees at 2:29 am.

Yesterday our trip into town went smooth for us. We did, however, see a truck off the road stuck in a snow bank. A thin layer of ice and snow covered the road most of the way to Presque Isle.
