Snowing Lightly

Tuesday, 10:05 am: It’s below freezing and it’s snowing, albeit lightly. At least today it resembles what December weather should be. I almost forgot what seasonal weather is supposed to be like. Old Man Winter needed to be jumpstarted this year. I think it had to do with El Niño half a world away.

As I mentioned in an earlier blog, the mice are returning inside and I’ve already mounted my seasonal mouse trapping campaign. Unlike Elmer Fudd I usually win. But then I am not a cartoon character -- I‘ve got more fingers.

We had a telephone call this morning from Berlin, Germany. My wife’s cousin was inquiring about our weather and complained it is unseasonably warm in Germany. Warm enough in fact to cancel a European championship winter skiing competition in the Alps. My wife is downstairs making a German recipe Eierlikör [egg liquor], an old favorite of her family. It’s a bit more thick than her coffee, not by much though. That’s it, my brain is tapped out: More next time.
