Crisp Autumn Morning
We did dodge the bullet last night. The temperature dropped to just under 37 degrees so there was no frost. This morning it is quite cool, and with the combination of the fog and heavy dew everything not under cover is very wet. There are some "Mare's Tails and Mackerel Scales" making for some interesting predictions for the next 24 hours. I did not see the sunrise so I cannot correlate it with the cloud type.
Once again this should be the kind of day to do anything inside or out. The Farmington Fair is over, so it should be a good time to finish preparations for the upcoming winter season. That, by the way, is another old saw, "The preparations for winter should be completed by the end of Farmington Fair". The reason for that, I would guess, is that from now on the chance that it will be too cold or stormy to get them done is too great. That is just my common sense approach, and that is all.
