Wild, Windy and Rain

This afternoon (09/29/2005) we had some torrential rain and wild wild wind. I would estimate that we had wind gusts in the 47 to 54 mph range, with a constant wind at around 35 m.p.h. I watched as water gushed off one of the areas of the roof of my carriage house. By 17:00 hours the rain had stopped, and the sun was beginning to peek through the clouds. The wind changed direction to the northwest and the speed dropped to not more than 5 m.p.h. Just to note the rain did not actually start here until around 15:00 hours, so in about 2 hours we had 0.6 inches of rain. That is significant.
