Little Change

There has only been about an 8 degree change in temperature today. The sun almost made it out this afternoon, because I saw some patches of blue sky. It is just that the sun was not where the blue sky was. I found out why the animals were bored and getting into trouble yesterday afternoon. They have done quite a job on the field where I set them to labor. The only thing left are the empty stalks from the goldenrod. It is now possible to see all the wood that was cut to set the fence line, and if that gets hauled up it will go a long way to making things clearer for the animals to get to the field in the spring when the hay is up enough for them to feed on it. I have one more section of pasture to get to so I can really keep the animals in fresh browse for the 6 to 9 months that they can get to it without being chest deep in snow.
I have heard the S word today in reference to the weather headed our way. Well, as I have noted before and was told to me some years ago, any time after the 15th of October we can have snow, and I have seen us lose the ground on October 13th, and not gotten it back until the10th of May. That was a long winter in anybody's book.
