Clear to Overcast

This has basically been a beautiful day. I was finally able to get outside and mulch the peas. There has also been a pile of wood and brush that I have been waiting for snow cover and no wind to burn. That has finally happened. So the two biggest outside jobs that needed to be done before full blown winter have now been finished. We finally have gotten above the freezing mark, only by 0.6 degrees, but over is over. Of course the temperature is back below freezing again.
When I mulched the peas the soil in the garden was not frozen, and I sunk into it 4 to 6 inches. At least they have been mulched and therefore stand a better chance of germinating in the spring when the frost is out of the ground. Now it is all in the hands of Mother Nature and she will do whatever she wants.
