Rain & Fog Continue

The rain and fog that arrived this morning have continued all day. We have had some gusty winds throughout the day one of which reached 21 m.p.h. around 14:30 this afternoon. It has been warm all day, but, if the forecasters are right, this will be the last of the warm weather for a while. I was talking with someone on Thursday, and they said two things. First, that when there is no January Thaw the Maple Syrup Production is low, and second that the coldest week of the season is the third week in January. Next week may well be the coldest week of the season. As to the first statement, there was no thaw last January and Maple Syrup production was down according to someone else in the same shop. Hmmmmm.
