Winter is Back With a Vengeance

We are definitely back in the deep freeze. The temperature never got above 25° this afternoon. The barometer keeps going up, and the electronic instruments keep indicating fair weather. The temperature has already fallen almost 10° since the afternoon high.
With the exception of a few clouds in the west, the sky is almost perfectly clear. The sun is gone from the hills, leaving a light red afterglow. This is definitely not the sky one expects when the predictions are calling for a significant snowstorm over the weekend. I guess we will see what happens over the weekend.
