Rain and Fog

The rain has restarted this morning at a little after 04:00 hours. We have now had around 0.8 inches of rain for the month. I hear that this is supposed to turn to snow, and we are to get up to around 5 inches of the white stuff over the next couple of days. That is probably going to help get the frost out of the ground, and shorten mud season considerably. If that is indeed true we may actually be able to get our implements on the garden earlier than usual. I certainly hope so. I was unable to put a garden in last year because of the wet weather we had in April, May and June. My tiller did not like working in oatmeal-like soil, and neither did I.
All three of my instruments are calling for inclement weather this morning. It is not possible to see a red sky this morning because of the overcast, rain and fog. I guess they have it right.
