Not Quite Freezing

There was a blanket of clouds over us last night, and the temperature did not quite make it below freezing. Those clouds still have not produced any precipitation, and with the barometer as high as it is I am not sure that they will. It is still nice to be able to take Bart out at 05:30 in the morning and not need a flashlight to see where we are going. I noticed that where I had some serious mud in past years the ground appears to be drying out. Even the driveway is only showing a little bit of water on top and very little mud. Yesterday afternoon I took a walk on the garden, and while it was soft, it did not appear to be particularly muddy. I did check to see if any of the peas or garlic had started to grow, and they have not, so I recovered them with their mulch.
The two electronic weather instruments are showing sunny weather with a tendency to improve. The weather stick is not quite sure, as it is straight out indicating a tendency to change. We will see what happens over the day.
