A Few Clouds in the East
There were just a few clouds on the eastern horizon that gave us the red sky this morning. I do not think it portends any foul weather for the near future. If the wind was out of the south or east I might think differently, but it is out of the north and northwest. The sky is mostly clear, and the wind is variable and gentle. It has now been over a week since we have had a low temperature below freezing. I hesitate to say it, but winter may actually be at an end. While I was out for the bicycle ride yesterday, I noted that one of the farmers has tilled his cornfield, and prepared it for planting. If my garden spot is dry enough I will be doing the same in the next week. As I noted in an earlier commentary the garden may go in earlier than it has for the past several years, and that may well be a good thing for all of us that garden or farm.
My weather stick is pointed up this morning indicating fair weather today. All of the electronic instruments are indicating changing weather with a tendency to improve. This is quite a change from last night's indications. From the look of the sky, the improving barometer, low relative humidity and light winds I would tend to agree that we will have some pleasant weather today.
