Not Quite Pleasant

Today has been overcast and threatening since I left early this morning. By the time we reached mile 63 on the Maine Turnpike it had started to rain. In Portland today we had showers off and on all day. Here in Wilton any showers we had were not enough to register on the rain gauge. It is still overcast, and we may yet receive some sky juice before the night is over. It has been basically a dismal, damp and raw day, and we still need enough rain to wet the vegetation from last year to reduce the fire danger. Right now the lawns and flower gardens need a drink too.
The weather stick still has no clue to what the weather is going to do. Two of the electronic instruments are calling for a change with deteriorating conditions. The third electronic instrument is saying that we will have rain, and I tend to agree with that assessment. The one indicator that has tipped the balance for me is the red sky we had this morning. I would therefore guess that we might have some rain, but certainly cloudy sky overnight
