Rain Most of the Day

Over the last twenty-four hours, we have had 0.75 inches of rain. That is quite a bit, and a whole lot more than what we needed. We are back in what I called last May the Dismals. We did have some sun on Saturday and Sunday, but it was not enough to do what needs to be done. Right now, I would not dare to try to put a cultivator or tiller on the garden to rework the areas that have not been planted. The implement and I would go straight to the bottom of the water table, or maybe the center of the earth. Talk about a repeat of last year. I did not believe it would happen two years in a row, but apparently, it is. We have now had almost five inches of rain for the month of May. It is too much already.
The weather instruments are not showing any relief at the moment. The weather stick is acting as if it has a weight at its tip pulling it down toward the ground. All three of the electronic instruments are calling for stormy weather, and I cannot argue with them at this time. I would certainly like to though.
