Overcast Again
There has been sky juice falling overnight to the tune of a little over 0.3 inches. This puts us at almost five inches for the month. Ouch! For the last couple of days the low temperature has been above the temperature where wind chill can be calculated. I will therefore stop reporting wind-chill until and unless the temperature requires it. I will, in its place report the heat index based on the high temperature and the humidity at that time. Heat index, as I noted last year, is a measure of what the combination of temperature and humidity feels like to our skin. It is a health indicator, and tells us when we should drink more fluids and/or restrict our activities due to the potential for heat stress. The calculator that I am using starts at 80°F.
It does not look like I will be able to get onto the garden today, but if the weather clears I might get to the lawn. I do intend to get to the clean up of some wood around the place, if the weather allows it. The weather stick has its tip headed toward the ground indicating foul weather again. The three electronic instruments are indicating deteriorating weather with rain and clouds. That is why I am not very confident about getting outside to take care of some outdoor chores.
