A Change For The Better

There was a brief shower around 05:00 this morning, but then it stopped. The clouds have broken up and there has actually been some sunshine this afternoon. I was able to go down the road to a spot where there was some wood on the side of the road and pick it up. I looked at my garden and harvested some more asparagus. I also noted that the lettuce has come up along with the broccoli and cauliflower. I did start to step on the garden, but quickly withdrew because of the muddy conditions. If we can get two or three days without rain I might be able to get some work done to replant my corn and anything else that has not come up.
The weather instruments still have not come to full agreement on their prognostications. The Min/Max thermometer is saying rain, as is the remote weather station downstairs. My weather console indicates improving conditions with mixed sun and clouds. The weather stick is straight out indicating some unsettled weather, but pointed slightly up indicating improvement.
