The Weather Is Mixed

When I last stepped outside last night we were having a shower, but on checking this morning the rain gauge showed no additional precipitation. I guess it did not last long, and was not very heavy. When I first stepped out this morning it looked like the ground and grass were wet, but the seat on my lawnmower was dry, confirming my earlier statement. Right now, the sun is out (07:00) and the clouds seem to be breaking up. The animals went outside yesterday, and they appeared to enjoy the growing grass. They were fortunate in that they were not rained on, which made them even happier.
The weather instruments are showing a mix of forecasts. The Min/Max Thermometer is indicating improving conditions, but mixed sun and clouds. The remote station is indicating rain, and the weather station console is indicating improving conditions with sunshine. The weather stick is adding to the confusion by pointing slightly down. The best I can come up with for a forecast for today is unsettled conditions with periods of clouds, but some sun and a chance for showers. How is that for hedging my bets?
