Finally a Direction
Yes, all the weather instrumentation and indicators are in agreement, finally. They are all saying that conditions will deteriorate and we will have some rain. There is not a great deal I can add to that, except to say that it feels very humid, and I would not be at all surprised to see rain before morning.
Now to today's observations. We started out with clouds, then we had a little bit of sun. The temperature came close to 80°F and that was a nice change. I did mow my lower pasture, just to get the goldenrod under control. I also mowed my lawn because it was in desperate need of it. While I was mowing I was rained on now and then, but it was just a passing cloud, and there was no measurable precipitation. It has only been about a week and a half since I last mowed the lawn, and it was as if I had not touched it.
I was looking at the garden this afternoon, after I had finished the mowing, and I found the lettuce is up, and so are the broccoli and cauliflower. I guess all is not lost, but I think I will need to replant the corn and the peas. The garden has to dry out a bit first though. I cannot walk easily in oatmeal consistency earth, and that is what I currently have
