Red Sky And Fog
We have now had our first morning in September with fog. There was also a red sky, but I do not believe that portends rain today.

What Does This Portend?
N.O.A.A. got it right overnight on the fog for the predominant weather and sky cover. They did miss on the temperature though, with the low temperature ending at 42.6°F instead of 50°F. The sky overnight was star studded, the temperature cool and fall creeping into the air.
The Weather Underground model forecast map shows that today will be a third day of beautiful weather for this area. N.O.A.A's graphical forecast maps show us starting with fog, and that will be gone by 08:00 hours. There will be no rain during the day, the temperature rising from 54°F to 73°F and the cloud cover rising from 5% to 39%. That is not a bad forecast at all.
My Weather Stick is responding, once again, to the 91% humidity pointing down. So, there is no real prediction for the weather from that. The red sky, while potentially ominous, does not really predict today's weather. The Min/Max Thermometer and Weather Station Console both predict continued high barometric pressure with clear skies for today. The remote weather station still has not heard the news, and is forecasting a mix of sun and clouds. It seems that it is back to the woodpile fore me again today, and that is a good thing.
