Another Very Decent Day
It was a very pleasant day to be working on the woodpile again. The amount of wood there continues to diminish. I got there around noon, and there were a significant number of cumulus clouds going by. They appeared to be the remnants of storms that did not affect us, or just some instability in the atmosphere. Late this afternoon and evening, the sky was probably 80% covered by cirrus clouds and an occasional cumulus cloud. I am not sure if these portend some rain, but time will tell on that. Both N.O.A.A, and the Weather Underground maps got the predominant weather correct, and we had no rain. N.O.A,A, was about 5°F low in their estimate of the high temperature for today and about 40% low in their estimate of the cloud cover.
The Weather Underground model forecast map shows clear skies overnight and tomorrow, all day. The N.O.A.A. graphical forecast maps indicate fog developing after 02:00 hours, temperatures ranging from 62°F down to 49°F and the cloud cover going from a low of 25% to 41% tomorrow at 05:00 hours.
The smoke from my outdoor wood boiler is drifting up, indicating that we are under the influence of high pressure. The Weather Stick is slightly up, and I hope that is because we are going to continue this string of great weather. For the first time in a long time all three of my electronic instruments indicate clear skies for the next 12 hours, and the Min/Max Thermometer and Weather Station Console forecast continued high pressure, and at 30.29 in Hg that is high and still rising. My forecast, based on all of this information, is for a nice evening followed by another very good day for outside activities.
The peachick pictured below with its peahen was hatched three days ago. I sure hope it makes it to adulthood.
