A Nearly Perfect Day
The fog was gone by 08:00 and the temperature was moving up quickly. Very soon, I will lower the storm windows, because when the temperature gets into the thirties it becomes very difficult to get out of a warm, comfortable waterbed to face the cold that permeates the house. I will not turn the heat on until the house goes below 60°F during the day. At that point, my outdoor wood boiler will begin to get a real workout. Believe it or not, the N.O.A.A. forecast from this morning was right on target. All four of the parameters were at the forecast levels within 30 minutes of 17:00 hours, and that was very good.
The Weather Underground forecast map continues to predict no rain and high humidity through tomorrow. N.O.A.A. forecasts no rain (or other weather) overnight, temperatures that will fall to the mid-thirties, cloud cover that will be almost non-existent by morning and relative humidity about where it has been all summer around 96%.
My Weather Stick is straight out due to the lower humidity, and maybe it knows something I do not about the coming weather. All three of my electronic instruments are reporting out the way they did this morning forecasting clear skies with high barometric pressure. I will go with them and call for a clear, but cold overnight. Radiational cooling strikes again.
