N.O.A.A. missed this one in a big way. The fog is so thick that I cannot see the 100 feet to the end of my driveway. That fog has kept the temperature up by acting as a blanket and holding the heat in. It was possible to see the moon above the fog, and the sky was clear. The rest of the N.O.A.A. forecast was on the mark, with the temperature at 35.7°F vs. 35°F forecast, the cloud cover estimated at 0-5% vs. the forecast 5% and the relative humidity at 90% vs. 96%. All things considered, they did all right on the overnight forecast.
For today, the Weather Underground model forecast map predicts clear skies with no rain. N.O.A.A. is also predicting no precipitation, very clear skies (3% to 15% cloud cover), temperatures rising from 40°F to 67°F by 14:00 hours and the relative humidity falling from 70% to 32% by the same time. Apparently, they are forecasting a clear dry day, typical of autumn. I am closing down the storm windows for the season.
My Weather Stick still points down due to the 90% humidity, so that cannot be used as an indicator of the upcoming weather. The Weather Station Console forecasts clear skies with continued high barometric pressure readings. The Min/Max Thermometer and remote weather station forecast falling barometric pressure and a mix of sun and clouds. Based on the N.O.A.A. forecast, the Weather Underground model map and the Weather Station Console I will predict another beautiful autumn day, even though it is still officially summer.
