Gray, It Has Been All Day
There may have been a glimpse of sun this morning, or early afternoon, when the temperature topped out at 85.8°F. Other than that, it has bee a cloudy, threatening day. We have had no rain, or at least no measurable rain so far today. The Weather Underground forecast model map said we would have no rain today, and so far, they were right. N.O.A.A. called for rain or showers all day, and it appears they were wrong. They were correct on the late afternoon temperature at 72°F, but not on the relative humidity or cloud cover. I will continue to hold their feet to the fire until they do a better job of prognostication. I know, they have the degrees in meteorology, and mine is only a Masters in Biology, so what do I know?
The Weather Underground forecast map is calling for a decent day tomorrow with no rain. N.O.A.A. is forecasting scattered fog before midnight continuing though the night, the temperature falling from 67°F to 54 °F to 52°F overnight and the relative humidity rising from 87% to 100% by 23:00 hours and remaining there through the night.
My Weather Stick points straight out due to lower humidity, and unsettled weather if you believe weather sticks. I am not sure I believe my electronic instruments since the Weather Station Console indicates improving barometric pressure but unsettled weather, the Min/Max Thermometer calls for improving barometric pressure with clear skies and the remote weather station forecasts clouds with deteriorating barometric pressure. Going by what it looks like outside I would not be surprised by a shower before the evening ends followed by some fog. Temperatures will not change much because of the lack of radiational cooling, and the relative humidity should be where it has been lately, around 90%. How is that for flying in the face of the experts? I guess I can prognosticate as well as the best of them when I have all the data to work from.
