Cirrus To Nimbostratus Clouds By Evening
Those clouds I saw on the East and West horizons this morning gradually moved over us. First, they showed up as cirrus clouds, little more than wisps, and finally by sunset they were nimbostratus, as far as I could tell. We still had no rain today, the temperature reached 68.1°F (not 66°F), the cloud cover exceeded 77% by a great deal, and the relative humidity exceeded 48% by almost 40%. For today, I can only give N.O.A.A. 30%, because they missed the mark by so much.
Currently N.O.A.A. is calling for showers to start around 02:00 hours, the temperature to fall only to about 44°F, the cloud cover to reach 77% and the relative humidity to reach 100%. I have yet to see the relative humidity that high, so that may well be in error. The Weather Underground forecast model is still saying that tomorrow will be the pick of the weekend.
My Weather Stick pointed slightly up this afternoon when I took that reading, and the humidity at that time was much lower than it is now. The three electronic instruments are still calling for the barometric pressure to rise overnight, despite the fact that it has already fallen a bit. The same two that called for sunny skies this morning are still calling for them. The remote weather station still forecasts a mix of sun and clouds. My own prediction is for some unsettled weather with a chance for showers at least by noon tomorrow.
