In A Word, Pleasant, but Cool
This morning dawned clear and cool. The forecast showers overnight did not materialize. The photographed clouds continued to dissipate until there was nothing left but clear, starry sky. N.O.A.A. had the 05:00 temperature right at 43°F, there was no rain, the sky cleared rather than 78% cloud cover, and the relative humidity did not get near 100%. The score for last night for N.O.A.A. is 50% by my reckoning.
The Weather Underground model forecast map is calling for no rain today. N.O.A.A. has forecast no rain, a high temperature of 63°F, the cloud cover falling to 40% and the relative humidity dropping to 42%. That is not a bad forecast if it is accurate.
My Weather Stick still points straight out because of the lower humidity this morning. Two of my electronic instruments forecast clear skies with improving barometric pressure. The remote weather station is stuck at forecasting rain and deteriorating barometric pressure. I guess it has not yet heard the news that the storm system has moved on. It appears that we will have a pleasant, but cool, autumn day.
