A Definite Fall Feel To The Day
I got this one right. It was a crisp, bright day with a few clouds. I helped a friend take down a maple tree, part of which fell during the windstorm yesterday evening. It felt good to have a light jacket on despite laboring outside. The Weather Underground model forecast map had the precipitation right today, there was none. N.O.A.A. also got the weather right, they were off by 4°F on the temperature (it reached 67.6°F), the cloud cover was not more than 40% and the relative humidity they did get right. Their score for this forecast would have to be a 90%, since all they missed was the temperature, and they were close on that.
The Weather Underground model forecast map predicts that there will be no rain overnight, but that we may be looking at some showers from 09:00 hours to 15:00 hours tomorrow. The N.O.A.A. forecast for the overnight is for no rain, temperatures dipping to 38°F, the cloud cover ranging from 48% up to 64% then back to 56% and the relative humidity rising from 59% to 82% by 05:00. Once again, not a bad forecast if it is accurate.
My Weather Stick points slightly up, and maybe it is calling for unsettled weather, or maybe it is just the humidity at 51%. My Min/Max Thermometer and Weather Station Console forecast clear sky and rising barometric pressure. I do not know what is going on with the remote weather station, but it seems to be stuck in a rain and falling barometric pressure mode. I will go with the two out of three and call far a pleasant, but cool evening.
By the way, my Peacock was seen within a half mile of the house. I understand they will go looking for other pheasants, and usually return home within a couple of weeks, f they are not caught and eaten by some predator. I really hope that does not happen, and that he returns home before he forgets where home is.
