Now, there is something we have not seen for a while, and that is low humidity. It actually got down to 36% earlier this afternoon. There has been, if you have been outside to notice, some wind this afternoon as well. We have had no rain today despite what the Weather Underground forecast map suggested this morning. N.O.A.A. fared no better in the rain forecast, the temperature made it up to 68.9°F, the cloud cover was much closer to 60% than 39% and the relative humidity was into the mid-thirties. All things considered, N.O.A.A. missed today's forecast completely and receives a 0% for their effort.
Let us see if they can do better tonight. The Weather Underground model forecast map indicates that we will not have rain overnight. The same is true of N.O.A.A., the temperature is expected fall from 50°F to 35°F overnight, the cloud cover is forecast to fall from 34% to 23% by 02:00 hours then rise to 26% by 05:00 hours and they indicate the relative humidity will rise from 64% to 99%. I do not know about that last parameter, but time will tell.
With 38% (it was 39%) humidity I would expect the Weather Stick to Point up, and indeed it does. Does this also portend fair weather? I do not know. My Weather Station Console and Min/Max Thermometer now agree that the barometric pressure will rise and we will have clear sky overnight. The remote weather station has finally turned off the rain, and is forecasting clouds overnight. As I observe the sky outside, I see a large number of cumulus clouds, so I will have to suggest that we will have partly cloudy skies overnight, and temperatures that may approach the frost mark. I do not think that we will have frost right here, but in any of the lower valleys, there may well be a touch of frost where there has not been any yet.
