Not Star Studded, Cloud Covered

100_0887.JPG
And The Rain Comes Tumbling Down
Usually when I step outside early in the morning the sky is star studded, but this morning it is cloud covered. We have had no rain overnight, but it has started now (07:00 hours). Overnight the Weather Underground model forecast map had it right, since we had no rain. N.O.A.A. on the other hand did not since they called for showers after 23:00 hours. The also missed the cloud cover at 100% rather than 75%, the temperature was close at 52.1°F rather than 50°F, and the relative humidity was close at 93% as opposed to the actual of 91%. On this basis I can score them at 44%. These forecasters are paid for these prognostications, and if I had reported my chemistry with this accuracy I would have been fired.
The Weather Underground model forecast map seems to have erred, since they are still calling for the rain to start around 15:00 hours and end around 06:00 hours tomorrow. N.O.A.A. is calling for rain tapering to showers late this afternoon, the temperature to rise to 61°F by 14:00 hours falling back to 60°F by 17:00 hours this afternoon, the cloud cover likewise rising to 92% then falling to 87% in the same time frame and the relative humidity falling from 100% to 58%. This should be interesting.
My Weather Stick points (surprise, surprise) down. Is this due to the humidity or the weather? All three of the electronic instruments forecast rain with a deteriorating barometric pressure. It is raining outside, and it appears likely that it will continue for a while. The barometric pressure has already fallen some more, and it appears likely to continue as well. We will have some inclement weather today, so the animals will not go outside. They will get some hay inside, and they will be kept dry. They do seem to appreciate that, since they try to get inside when it is raining outside. Can we say spoiled?
