It’s Cool This Morning
The rain ended shortly after I finished the report yesterday afternoon. The storm added 0.04 inches of precipitation to our total. The Weather Underground forecast map did get the overnight weather correct. We had no more rain, and the storm system did move out quickly. Right now we have some partly cloudy skis with the puffy cumulus clouds passing through. N.O.A.A. missed the mark both on the showers and on the fog overnight, because of radiational cooling the temperature reached 37°F, the cloud cover is estimated at about 36% and the relative humidity was close at 88%. On the basis of the data I would score N.O.A.A. at 45% on their forecast.
The N.O.A.A. forecast for today, starting at 08:00 hours, is for fog moving to no precipitation, the temperature rising to 59°F by 14:00 hours then falling back to 57°F by 17:00 hours, the cloud cover rising from 29% to 44% and the relative humidity falling from 89% to 39% by 14:00 hours then increasing to 40% by 17:00 hours. If correct, this is not a bad forecast for today.
My Weather Stick continues to point down in the morning. Put that in the "for what it's worth" department. The Weather Station Console and Min/Max Thermometer indicate that the barometric pressure will improve and that we will have clear skies. The remote weather station also forecasts improving barometric pressure, but with a mix of sun and clouds. Right now we have partly cloudy skies, and I expect that to become more clear than cloudy as the day wears on. It will be cool though, and may not even reach 60°F this afternoon.
