Didn't It Get Cold?
I said it would get cold and it did get well below freezing. The sky was as clear as a bell, and that allowed all the heat to radiate into space. I hope the stars were warm. N.O.A.A. got some of it right overnight. (I took the data down; I just did not have time to report it last night.) There was no rain, the temperature was 26.9°F instead of 25°F, the cloud cover was 10% or less not 17% and the relative humidity only reached 89% not 92%. That affords N.O.A.A. a grade of 50% and no more.
The Weather Underground model forecast map shows no precipitation on the immediate horizon. N.O.A.A. forecasts no precipitation, the temperature reaching a high of 57°F, the cloud cover rising from 19% to 47% and the relative humidity falling from 96% to 37% by 17:00 hours this afternoon.
My Weather Stick still points down in the morning most of the time, and this is no exception. The three electronic instruments do not agree at all. The Weather Station Console forecasts a rising barometer with fair skies. The Min/Max Thermometer forecasts a falling barometer with a mix of fair and cloudy skies. Finally the remote weather station forecasts cloudy skies with a steady barometer. Who wants to guess on this one? My best guess is bright sun with a steady barometer and mostly clear skies.
