Star Studded Black Velvet
Despite what N.O.A.A. said for this evening I cannot see a cloud in the sky. As stated the sky has the appearance of black velvet with the stars painted on it, just as bright and clear as can be. The Weather Underground model map had it right this morning. We have had no rain and the barometric pressure has gone up. N.O.A.A. got the weather right, but their predicted high was low, the clouds dissipated this morning very quickly and the relative humidity was 40% at 17:00 hours. I can score N.O.A.A. a grade of 50% for their forecast, and that is still an "F".
For the overnight N.O.A.A. predicts fog after 02:00 hours, temperatures dipping to 28°F, the cloud cover to rise from16% to 23% and the relative humidity to rise from 69% to 95%. Since the humidity is already at 82%, the sky is clear and the temperature is 34.8°F, I do not think they will fare too well with their grade for this forecast. I may need to keep track of these scores to work up a monthly average.
My Weather Stick is no better a prognosticator of the weather than is N.O.A.A. and it points slightly up. All three of my electronic instruments predict improving barometric pressure and fair skies. I can live with that for a forecast. With that much agreement they are usually correct.
