With the humidity at 81%, I was a bit surprised that there was no dew this morning. It is a rarity that we do not have dew or frost (depending on the temperature). The fog that was supposed to develop this morning did not develop here. From what I could see there may be fog in other areas, so be careful driving, visibility may be limited. N.O.A.A. predicted fog this morning, the temperature to fall to 47°F, the cloud cover to reach 44% and the relative humidity to vary from 80% to 86%. The only ones they got right were the temperature and relative humidity, which gives them a score of 50% (temperature within 5 °F is acceptable). It has been suggested that I stop grading N.O.A.A., but I am only looking at 4 parameters, and basing the grade on those. I could spend a great deal more time and base that grade on several other parameters, but I do have other tasks that I need to accomplish. For the time being, I will continue to base a grade on the four parameters listed above.
For today, the Weather Underground model forecast map indicates that there is a possibility of some clouds and precipitation moving into the area. N.O.A.A. predicts no precipitation during the day, the temperature to reach a high of 61°F, the cloud cover to fall to 84% by 14:00 hours then increase to 87% and the relative humidity to fall to 69%.
My Weather Stick points only slightly down, and that is either due to the lower humidity or unsettled weather. There is no agreement among my electronic instruments. The Weather Station Console forecasts a falling barometer with rain, the Min/Max Thermometer predicts improving barometric pressure and unsettled weather and the remote weather station predicts a steady barometric pressure with cloudy skies. No matter what I say, I will disagree with one of them. I will predict a variable barometric pressure with some unsettled weather, clouds and maybe a widely scattered shower.
