Rain Has Arrived And So Has The Fog
We have already had 0.16 inches of rain since last evening. It started around 02:15 hours, but right now we are in a lull. According to the Weather Underground model forecast map, we are in for a great deal more before this system moves out. Last evening N.O.A.A. predicted we would have 0.17 inches of rain, and we got 0.16 inches. That is pretty good. They further predicted a low temperature of 50°F (49.8°F is close enough); the cloud cover would be 100% and the relative humidity at 96%. For last night, they get a 100% with a bonus of 20% for the rain amount.
For today the prediction is for rain amounting to an inch by 20:00 hours (most of it this afternoon), the temperature to reach 58°F (only an 8°F rise) by 14:00 hours then falling to 55°F by 17:00 hours, the cloud cover to remain at 100% and the relative humidity to fall to 80% then rise to 83% by 17:00 hours. I suspect that the air temperature warming up during the day is causing the decline in the relative humidity, and the cooling in the late afternoon causing the rebound.
My Weather Stick points down. Is anyone surprised by that? All three of the electronic instruments predict, as they did last night, continued foul weather with deteriorating barometric pressure. How about a rainy autumn day? I think that is what we will have, with very little change in temperature during the day.
