What A Storm

Last night I recorded the lowest barometric pressure I have seen since I started keeping these records, 28.89 in Hg. I also recorded a rainfall rate of 0.81 inches/hour. The rain finally stopped at 00:15 hours last night. I recorded the highest gust of wind at 35.3 mph about 15 minutes later at 00:32. While their timing does not seem to be quite right, N.O.A.A. did get the total amount of rain about right for this storm at 2.1 inches. They did predict 1.39 inches for the storm. The rest of their forecast showed a miss of 5°F high for the low temperature, the cloud cover about right at 50% and the relative humidity at 75% not 82% as predicted. That will give them a score of 50% and a bonus of 10% for the rain or a "D" grade for the overnight.
The Weather Underground model forecast map shows the storm pulling away into Canada very quickly. The N.O.A.A. forecast maps forecast no precipitation for our area, the temperature rising to a high of 51°F, the cloud cover decreasing to 30% and the relative humidity reaching a low of 44%. This is a straightforward forecast for the weather after a storm, so we shall see what happens.
My Weather Stick points down this morning, and I have now idea why. The humidity is lower than it has been, and the weather is clearing. All three of the electronic instruments are indicating improving barometric pressure. The Weather Station Console and Min/Max Thermometer forecast fair skies. The remote weather station forecasts rain. That may be because the sensor is in the barn and not outside, therefore it may take a bit longer to note the change from rain to sun. It seems that this will be a blustery day with the clouds left over from the storm passing through along with lots of wind.
