The Threat Of Showers Still Exists

Overnight we had just a little more rain. The temperature changed very little, with the 05:00 low coming in at 37.5°F. According to both N.O.A.A. and the Weather Underground model forecast map we are still under the threat of a scattered shower today, though they could be widely scattered. The cloud cover overnight remained thick, and currently it shows a few breaks, though not enough to see the moon or stars. That makes it as dark as the inside of a pocket this morning before sunrise. I have reported the low temperature at 37.2°F, but that may change later today if it falls further. The results of the N.O.A.A. forecast for temperature and humidity at 20:00, 23:00, 02:00 and 05:00 compared with my actual readings are detailed as follows:
Temperature: 40°F/38°F//38°F/38°F//37°F/38°F///36°F/38°F. (-5%)
Relative Humidity: 96%/89%//96%/91%//100%/91%//100%/91%. (-30%)
This translates to a score of 65%, and that is at least passing with a "D". I am still trying to work out a grading system that will be fair, and I think I am getting closer.
For today at the usual 3-hour intervals from 08:00 hours N.O.A.A. predicts scattered showers, and a sky cover of 89%, 89%, 89% and 87%, so not much chance for sunshine today. The projected temperature and humidity data are detailed below:
Temperature: 37°F/44°F/47°F/46°F.
Relative Humidity: 91%/68%/58%/58%.
It seems we are going to have another grey day with the threat of scattered showers.
My Weather Stick has taken up residence in the down position, and that is where it is this morning. All three of the electronic instruments forecast rain for the daylight hours, with the remote weather station predicting a steady barometer. The other two electronic instruments forecast falling barometric pressure. Looking outside I find the sky overcast with some definition between clouds, the barometric pressure has fallen overnight and there is a high humidity, and all of this leads me to think that we may well see some inclement weather today. Therefore, look for scattered showers with little change in temperature. I am going to do my milk chores and hole up in the house to stay warm and dry.
