A Good Start To The Day

The sky over our area is nearly clear, with a few high clouds on the eastern horizon. I am not sure where the weather sites are finding the clouds that make it overcast or mostly cloudy. Those clouds are certainly not here.

The temperature is a bit cool, but the humidity is down and so is the wind, therefore it does not feel that bad. N.O.A.A. and the Weather Underground model map had the predominant weather correct overnight, and the cloud cover was close to the forecast or a little lower. The results for the temperature and humidity are tabulated as follows starting at 20:00 hours:
Temperature: 38°F/42°F//34°F/41°F//32°F/40°F//30°F/38°F.
Relative Humidity: 62%/61%//69%/62%//69%/59%//75%/66%.
The forecast temperatures were a little low, and the forecast humidity was a little high. They are predicting the future, and I do not know what they are using for their database. I do not believe it is the data being submitted by the citizen weather observers.
For today, the Weather Underground model map shows us in the clear, and N.O.A.A. predicts no precipitation. N.O.A.A. further predicts the cloud cover will be 49%/41%/40% and 38% respectively starting at 08:00 this morning. The forecast temperature and relative humidity are as follows:
Temperature: 30°F/42°F/48°F/46°F.
Relative Humidity: 72%/48%/40%/45%.
I will continue to monitor and report this data, but I can no longer, in good conscience, grade them because they perform so poorly. I am going to contact them to find out how they determine these numbers, and when I find out, I will report it to you.
My Weather Stick points slightly up, and with the lower relative humidity that is not surprising. Maybe it portends some improving weather too. All three of the electronic instruments predict improving barometric pressure. The Weather Station Console and Min/Max thermometer predict fair skies, and the remote weather station forecasts a mix of fair and cloudy skies. As I look out my windows there are a few clouds, but certainly not as high as 40% cloud cover. I think that we will have a pleasant day with a significant amount of sunshine, and temperatures slightly above normal.
