The storm is really gone this time. The wind is now out of the North Northwest bringing us some much cooler and drier air. It is nice for a change. We do need this respite from the inclement weather. I have heard people talking about how depressing the weather has been. N.O.A.A. did get the predominant weather correct, but the cloud cover fell well below 40%. The comparison between the forecast and actual temperature and relative humidity is tabulated next:

The N.O.A.A. forecast for the temperature was quite close, while that for the relative humidity lost some accuracy, as it got closer to morning. The prediction for the predominant weather is for no precipitation, and the cloud cover according to N.O.A.A. will start at 41% rise to 47%, then to 53% and finally fall to 49% by 16:00 hours this afternoon. It appears that we have a cooler and much drier air mass moving in. That should help keep our streams and swamps in their banks.
My Weather Stick still points down, despite the lower humidity this morning, and I have no idea why, since we are having some drier weather with clear skies. The Weather Station Console and Min/Max Thermometer forecast fair skies with improving barometric pressure. The remote weather station forecasts improving barometric pressure with cloudy skies. As I look outside and see the sunshine, clear skies and trees moving in the breeze there is no doubt that this will be a delightful autumn day. It will be a good day for outdoor activity.
