A Dismal Start To December
Well, here we are again. This month is starting out just as last month ended. All I can see from my windows is a combination of clouds, fog and rain. The temperature is still well above normal, and the type of precipitation is not normal either. This should be snow, but if it were snow we would certainly have enough to last the winter. N.O.A.A. forecast rain for the entire night, but it did not start until after midnight. The cloud cover estimates were close to correct. The temperature and relative humidity data (forecast v actual) are tabulated next.
Temperature: 49°F/55°F//46°F/58°F//45°F/57°F//44°F/51°F.
Relative Humidity: 100%/89%//100%/87%//100%/87%//100%/92%.
N.O.A.A. has started the month missing the mark for both the temperature and relative humidity forecasts.
The forecast from N.O.A.A. calls for rain all day and cloud cover in the upper 90% range. The forecast temperature and relative humidity are detailed next.
Temperature: 43°F/45°F/46°F/45°F:
Relative Humidity: 93%/86%/83%/79%.
We will know this afternoon if they can hit the mark with their forecast.
My Weather Stick points down. I think it may be taking a permanent set in that position. Two of my electronic instruments predict deteriorating barometric pressure with foul weather. The remote weather station forecasts clouds with a steady barometer. My own feeling is that we are going to have a bit more rain before all of this moves out. The NEXRAD composite radar shows a significant mass of moisture headed our way supporting the idea of more rain today.
