A few clouds passed overhead during the day today. N.OAA., the Weather Underground forecast maps and the NEXRAD radar all had it right today. We had no rain. The temperature, instead of being slightly warmer, was slightly cooler than yesterday. The wind was light and variable all day. All in all this was a pleasant but cool day.
There is no precipitation forecast for the overnight. The cloud cover is expected to remain below 50%. It will be cool, but not frigid. Tomorrow is the first day of winter, or winter solstice. Usually we have a significant snowpack by this time. Currently, it appears that we are not having the troughs form dragging the cold air out of Canada. That pattern may form toward the start of next year.
My Weather Stick responds to the 69% relative humidity by sticking straight out. All three of my electronic instruments, responding to a rapid fall in the barometric pressure, are predicting deteriorating barometric pressure. Two of them forecast for rain. The remote weather station forecasts cloudy conditions. What I see outside are mostly clear skies with an occasional cloud. My feeling is that we will continue to see clear skies, cool temperatures and light winds.
