A Stormy Day
N.O.A.A. did have the predominant weather correct for today. We had .2 inches less that an inch of rain out of this storm. I recently checked the NEXRAD radar, and they show most of the rain gone from our area, but there is still some to move out of Eastern Maine. The clouds are beginning to dissipate here, and the moon is visible, although there are still some clouds around.
For the overnight, N.O.A.A. forecasts light scattered showers around the area, but those may change to mixed frozen precipitation after midnight. The temperature is not forecast to fall below freezing overnight, but it will be close. Also, they predict that the cloud cover may dissipate into the 50% range by 01:00 hours, and then rebound to the 61% level by 04:00 hours.
My Weather Stick still points down, and with 91% relative humidity that is no surprise at all. My Weather Station Console is forecasting a storm with deteriorating barometric pressure. The Min/Max Thermometer predicts rain with deteriorating barometric pressure. The remote weather station is forecasting rain with deteriorating barometric pressure. If this looks familiar, it should because these are almost the same readings present this morning. It appears that the low-pressure system will hold on for a while before any high pressure begins to build in. By tomorrow afternoon, we may see a return to sunshine, but I do not believe that the temperatures will yet return to seasonable levels. I do not think we will have a “White Christmas” this year.. Tomorrow is Christmas Eve, and I wish everyone a very Merry Christmas.
