Have You Recovered?

It is now Christmas night, and I hope every one has had a delightful day. As we drove out Route 4 to visit some family this afternoon there were clouds moving into the area. The was a mix of cirrus, stratus and stratocumulus clouds as you looked from east to west. N.O.A.A. did have the predominant weather correct for the daylight hours since we had no rain or other precipitation. They did say that cloud cover would increase during the afternoon and it did.
The clouds that moved in during the afternoon are threatening to bring us some inclement weather. N.O.A.A. predicts that the evening will start off with no precipitation, but by 20:00 hours freezing precipitation is forecast to overspread the area. This will be a tough one to call because the temperature will be hovering near the freezing mark. The cloud cover started near 80%, and is forecast to climb to 100% shortly after midnight.
It is amazing that the relative humidity this evening being 3% lower than this morning has caused my Weather Stick to point up. My electronic instruments seem to be more than a little confused. The Weather Station Console forecasts fair skies with improving barometric pressure. The Min/Max Thermometer forecasts partly cloudy skies with deteriorating barometric pressure. The remote weather station is once again hung up on clouds deteriorating barometric pressure. With the clouds having thickened and lowered during the afternoon, two of the three electronic instruments forecasting deteriorating barometric pressure and the Weather Underground precipitation maps showing a storm moving in my best guess is that we will have some inclement weather overnight. This may make for a very interesting commute tomorrow morning.
