It Has Not Left Yet
Today was Boxing Day in England. This is the day when the aristocracy gave presents to their servants and the peasants. For us today it was a miserable stormy day. We started out with snow, changed to frizzle, had some fog and ended up with some more snow flurries. The temperature change about 2°F since 07:00 hours this morning. Further, the sky has remained overcast. Miserable is about the best thing we can say about today.
Overnight N.O.A.A. forecasts light, scattered mixed precipitation changing to snow after midnight. The temperature is not forecast to fall more than about 5°F, and the overcast is not expected to get below 81%. This does not appear to foretell a very pleasant evening. If you received a good book for Christmas this would be a good night to begin reading it.
My weather stick, shock of shocks, points down, and guess what the relative humidity is 90%. Am I being sarcastic? All three of my electronic instruments forecast deteriorating barometric pressure with rain. I cannot add anything to that forecast. Look for light rain, cool temperatures, overcast skies and the possibility of black ice on the roadways.
