Not As Cold As It Could Be
Overnight the clouds did what I suspected they might, and that was to move out and leave the sky clear. The temperature did fall, but not as far as I thought it might. Apparently some clouds did move through the area around 23:00 hours last night and that slowed the fall of the temperature. Right now ( 06:00 hours) the temperature is a little over 20°F.
For our area N.O.A.A. is forecasting no precipitation. Thirty minutes north of here they are predicting some snow. That is a good thing for the ski areas. They should be able to make snow as well as adding some natural snow. The temperature in our area is forecast to remain close to the freezing mark. Further, the cloud cover is projected to be in the range of 72% until late this afternoon when it is forecast to drop to 58%.
My Weather Stick points down (no other comment necessary). All three of the electronic instruments forecast improving barometric pressure. It seems that high pressure is once again in control of our weather. The remote weather station is forecasting partly cloudy skies. The other two instruments forecast clear skies. Based on what I see outside, the Weather Underground forecast maps, the NEXRAD regional radar and the N.O.A.A. graphical forecasts maps I suspect there will be very few clouds, no precipitation and seasonable temperatures.
