Reach Out And Touch The Stars

For today the National Weather Service a.k.a N.O.A.A. forecast no precipitation. I also suggested that there would be no precipitation. My Weather Station recorded 0.04 inches of precipitation, and that was the result of the snow in the rain gauge melting and being recorded. It appears that will happen from time to time. They also predicted moderating temperature, little cloud cover and variable winds. All of this appears to be the case, in fact the tabulated data shown at the end of this report does show that quite clearly for both the temperature and relative humidity.
For the overnight the picture is quite different. There is no precipitation predicted for our immediate area, but frozen precipitation, namely ice, is forecast after 01:00 hours. The temperature is expected to be in the low twenties, and the relative humidity is forecast to rise into the high 80% range. The cloud cover is also expected to rise from its low of 12% to a high of 68%. There is a weather statement recommending that people stay off the road as much as possible because of the ice that is expected.
At 67% relative humidity my Weather Stick points straight out. My Weather Station Console is currently forecasting partly cloudy skies. The other two electronic instruments are forecasting fair skies. All three are forecasting improving barometric pressure. With all the data I would suggest that we will start out with fair skies, but clouds will move in and frozen precipitation (probably sleet or freezing rain) will start to fall early tomorrow morning. Travel will become difficult and it will be a good idea to, again, curl up with a good book or a couple of new videos. Football is another option to consider. HAPPY NEW YEAR 2007!
