We reached our low temperature for the overnight between 19:00 and 20:00 hours last night. Since then the temperature has been rising to its present 25.8°F. We have had considerable cloud cover overnight, which acted as a blanket keeping us warmer than we could have been. The only other factor has been the wind that has been blowing generating some significant windchill. Therefore it may feel quite a bit colder outside than it actually is. N.O.A.A. missed the mark for the predominant weather overnight since we had no snow or any other precipitation.
For today N.O.A.A. is forecasting light snow all day, but I have not seen any yet. The sky is overcast, so it is possible that we may have some scattered light snow showers around the area. For most of the day the cloud cover is predicted to be in the mid 80% range, falling to 72% late this afternoon. The temperature is predicted to get above freezing by around noontime, so that may factor into the weather we get. It may be snow or it may be rain, or it may be nothing at all.
My Weather Stick points straight out indicating the lower relative humidity at 68%. Two of my electronic instruments forecast foul weather, and the remote weather station forecasts partly cloudy skies. All three of them are indicating deteriorating barometric pressure. I think we are in for a period of foul weather, and, as I suggested last night, it will take a while to get here. Today may be a gray day with moderating temperatures and some wind, but I do not think we will see any precipitation here until later this afternoon or tonight. At least the ski areas will be able to make snow for the trails.
