Overcast But Above Freezing Today
Currently the sky is overcast, but the temperature has been above freezing most of the afternoon. We did not have any more snow reach the ground this afternoon, although N.O.A.A. said we would. The cloud cover fell apart for a little while this morning, but it has certainly picked up this afternoon, and it is now overcast. The wind has kicked up as well, but, there again, it is light and variable.
For the overnight N.O.A.A. is calling for light snow with an accumulation of less than an inch for our area. The cloud cover is expected to remain at 92% all night, and they do not expect the temperature to fall more than about seven degrees. They also expect the wind to be more of a factor for tonight. In areas where there was more ice than snow (not here) they are warning residents to be prepared for power outages and downed tree limbs.
My Weather Stick points slightly down and with 70% relative humidity that is no surprise. All three of my electronic instruments are suggesting we will have foul weather overnight and the barometric pressure will fall. I cannot argue with all this data, and would suggest that we may well see some inclement weather overnight.
