N.O.A.A. called for snow for this area for the whole day. Well, they missed that one. We had one brief snow shower that did not provide enough snow to measure. It has been windy, and the cold air has more than filtered in. We did reach a high of 18.3°F, and with the amount of wind we have had that was not very high. At the time I started this report we had a temperature of 8°F with wind at 18.5 mph yielding a wind chill of -23.1°F. That was not pleasant.
Again, this evening N.O.A.A. is forecasting light snow for this area, but the sky has cleared, and it does not look like the snow is going to happen. In fact the forecast for sky cover drops from 75% to 56% during the overnight hours. The temperature is predicted to fall into the single numbers, and with the wind we have been having I do not want to be outside tonight at all.
With the relative humidity currently at 55% my Weather Stick points straight out from my carriage house wall. There is no surprise there. My Weather Station Console (LaCrosse WS 2308) and the Min/Max Thermometer are forecasting fair skies and rising barometric pressure. That pressure has already risen 0.3 in.Hg since this morning. The remote weather station (the thermo/hygro unit is in the barn) is forecasting clouds with rising barometric pressure.

N.O.A.A. missed the forecast for the temperature because the wind ushered the cold air in more rapidly than they expected. The relative humidity was much closer to the mark today. As I have mentioned before, anytime they get within 5% on the relative humidity I feel they have done well.
